Everton midfielders Diniyar Bilyaletdinov and Marouane Fellaini return from suspension for the 212th Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

However, there are slight doubts over midfielder Jack Rodwell (groin) and striker Louis Saha, who picked up a knock in Wednesday's defeat at Hull.

Steven Pienaar made a welcome return in that match after a two-month absence with a knee injury and is likely to start again.

Everton manager David Moyes believes his players are having a crisis of confidence which has contributed to their recent poor form.

Injuries have ravaged the squad and a run of one win in 10 matches has left the Toffees dangerously close to the relegation zone.

Moyes believes only the players can turn things around but accepts they are possibly feeling the pressure.

"Confidence is difficult to put into words. You can't put confidence onto the training ground, you can't go out and say `Come on, we're going to work on confidence today','' he said.

"You can encourage your players, praise them and make them feel better about themselves but ultimately that comes from inside the player.

"It comes from good team performances, which help the players, and good results help confidence, so it is only something generated by wins and a winning mentality. If you don't have that it can drain your confidence also.''

Fernando Torres will have a fitness test to see whether he is fit enough to be considered for a place in Liverpool's squad.

Torres has been having treatment on his serious groin injury and has done light training this week under the control of Liverpool's fitness coaches.

Winger Ryan Babel is still out with an ankle injury but Italian midfielder Alberto Aquilani is likely to be on the bench. Glen Johnson, Albert Riera and Yossi Benayoun, who have all struggled with injuries over the past week, should be in the squad.

He said: "You cannot be a fan and be happy when your team is not winning. There are reasons why, but I will not be making any excuses, we will improve.

"Everyone at this club is disappointed we are not winning. The only way to change things is to work hard.
