Alessandro Del Piero Salutes Juventus’ Character After Defeat Of Inter

Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero was overjoyed last night after the Bianconeri defeated 2-1 to close the gap on the Serie A leaders.

Juve were coming off two straight defeats in all competitions and yesterday’s win will go a long way towards boosting their morale ahead of a key Champions League clash with Bayern Munich next week.

“This victory tastes really good, because of the result and the way we played,” Del Piero beamed on Sky Sport Italia.

“We wanted to give a response and managed it, rediscovering certain qualities that are fundamental to us. In spite of everything, it’s important to get a result we really craved for.

“And it can be useful going into the match with Bayern, but we will have to be shrewd and humble.

“With this agonistic passion we can beat anyone, but without it we will struggle like it happened in the past.

“We must preserve this kind of aggression and desire to win in order to find the right stability.”

A draw with the Bavarians on Tuesday night will be enough for Juve to progress to the knockout stage of the Champions League.
