Begiristain in unhappy that Toure’s representative Dimitri Seluk has been expressing his concerns in the media over the Ivorian's lack of regular first-team action.
Sky Sports reports that Seluk has urged the Blaugrana to offer Toure a more frequent first-team role, or else be prepared to sell the player during the January transfer window.
Begiristain did not take kindly to Seluk’s comments and hopes that a recent meeting between the pair should put any transfer talk to bed by insisting that the 26-year-old remains part of coach Pep Guardiola’s plans.
“I have contacted the agent and our position is clear,” he said, before adding, “The most important thing is Toure.
“I am satisfied with his performances and with the dialogue between coach and player. They must be the protagonists. In football, interviews are normal for the players, but not so much with agents.”
Toure made the switch to the Camp Nou in 2007 from French side Monaco for a fee of €9m.
